Truss Plates
General Information
Truss plates are 1-2 mm thick, hot-dip galvanized steel sheets with bent die-punched nail forms.
They were developed for the optimization of carpenter-based timber constructions and to replace the often technical, complicated manufactured joint connections.
Strength
The truss plates are evenly pressed hydraulically at the joints on both sides of the wood.
Pressing in the both sides creates a friction-type connection without weakening the cross-section of the wood.
Standards
Depending on the amount of stress on a joint, a CAD-based production program will specify the necessary dimension of the truss plates, which are available from the manufacturer in standard sizes.
The static calculations from construction with truss plates are based on the specified standards of load assumption.
As a result, roof form construction with truss plates allows for the most variety in forms with almost unlimited design possibilities.
